(preferably North American). The reason we specify native English speakers is because it is what our clients request.
As a matter of fact, because we teach immersion English, Spanish is not spoken in our classes.
Before contacting us, it's a good idea to become familiar with our approach to teaching.
In all of our courses we emphasize the "communicative approach," focusing on conversation. We mainly use Cambridge University Press books, including The New Interchange System, which can be found at http://www.cup.org/esl/nic/support This is a teacher-support site to help further your experence in helping students learn English. We use the texts and work books, have a set time schedule and encourage teachers to use their imagination as much as possible.
A typical class is 3-5 hours per week usually split between two mornings, lunch times or evenings (Mon/Wed, Tue/Thur, Wed/Fri). Class sizes are from 1-10 students, with an average of 5-6 students per class.
Our most popular course is "General English" with an emphasis on conversation. This course has 4 levels, and each level takes 3 - 6 months to complete (depending on class size, ability, and number of hours being taught per week). For most levels we use CDs, DVDs and videos when applicable.
Additionally, we offer Business English, conversational and intensive English courses. You can either e-mail or fax us your resume along with a small picture (please keep your cover letter and resume under 2 pages).
. If you wish to come to Costa Rica to work with us, we will be happy to interview you at our offices in San José.
